Description
I just got a very sad news that one of the most well known and well loved comic book artist - Michael Turner had passed away last night, June 27th at approximately 10:42 pm in Santa Monica, Ca., from cancer.
I was fortunate enough to get to work with Michael. We worked on Fathom from issue #10 on up until he parted ways with Top Cow. I remember him getting an operation to remove a part of his pelvic bone. Mike struggled but never gave up. He continued to draw and had great spirit. He also gave me a lot of affirmation and encouragements. Aside from walking with a cane, you couldn’t really tell that there was anything wrong because he had this great personality that makes you feel very comfortable.
Mike is a great guy, a talented artist and a dear friend. He will surely be missed. My condolences go out to his family.
In honor of Mike, here is one of the covers we did together for Fathom back when we used to work at Top Cow.
Pencils: Mike Turner
Inks: Jon Sibal
Colors: Peter Steigerwald
